FAQ
Questions parish offices ask us first
If something isn't covered here, send a request or call — a person answers.
- Does it cost anything for our parish?
- No. RectoryFood is free for institutions. Caterers pay to receive qualified leads, which is how the service is funded.
- How quickly will a caterer contact us?
- Most requests are matched within four business hours. Funeral and repast requests inside 72 hours are flagged urgent and routed immediately.
- How are caterers vetted?
- We confirm licensing and liability insurance, check references from at least two institutional clients, and require documented food-safety practices before a caterer receives leads.
- Are you only for Catholic parishes?
- No. We work with Catholic, Orthodox, Episcopal, Lutheran, Methodist, Baptist, and non-denominational congregations, plus retreat centers, monasteries, and seminaries.
- Can caterers accommodate fasting seasons and dietary rules?
- Yes. Requests capture fasting-calendar needs, allergen requirements, and texture-modified diets, and we match only to caterers who have handled them before.
- What if we need a multi-site or diocesan contract?
- Select the diocesan option in the request form. Those go to partners with multi-site capacity and formal RFP experience, and often involve a scoping call first.
- Do you provide the food yourselves?
- No. We are a matching service, not a caterer. Your contract and payment are always directly with the catering company.
- What happens to our contact information?
- It goes to matched caterers so they can quote. We do not sell contact data to third parties or advertising networks.
